If you are located on the East Coast, this time of the year tends to be cold and dreary. Of course, if you are on the West Coast, it's a different story, but wherever you are, it is the perfect time to indulge in some new sweets.
Although our focus is mainly on Valentine's and Easter Candy, we received two new products that we can't stop raving about, which might be a subtle way of saying that we actually can't stop eating.
We have offered Planters and Lance Peanut Bars for decades, a unique best-selling item. But, alas, like so many items, these were discontinued, and we had to go into high gear to find a replacement. Not just any substitute but one that tasted as good as it looked. It might sound simple, but it was a challenge until we discovered Old Dominion Peanut Company Peanut Bars.
As we love candies from a historical angle, we would be remiss not to mention that Old Dominion Peanut Company, established in 1943 and located in Virginia, was the purveyor of many delicious peanut-based products. Hammond Candy purchased the company in 2018, and a classic destined to be discontinued remains the same as it ever was!
With a retro-inspired label and weighing in at 1.65 oz., and with 36 units in a case, these peanut blocks are sure to sell as well as the products they are replacing, and they taste better too!
Some candies need no introduction, and Reese's is close to the top of the list. The combination of Milk Chocolate and Peanut Butter is about as good as it gets, and it takes a great deal of effort and imagination to improve on something that is already close to perfect.
We admit that we were skeptical when we saw a bag labeled Reese's Drizzled Popcorn, but that skepticism disappeared the minute we opened the bag. Not only did this chocolate-covered popcorn smell delicious, but the flavor was out of this world. Think salty, sweet, crunchy in every bite! It doesn't get much better!
Packed in generous 20 oz. Bags, there might be more than enough to go around, but as it is a Limited Edition, we encourage you to purchase some for now in the hopes that you have the willpower to save a few for later! Good luck!
