As most of you can probably tell, I love chocolate. And by love I mean I would marry it if marriage to an edible object was ever made legal. There are just so manys kinds of chocolate. Dark chocolate, white chocolate, and my personal favorite, milk chocolate. But I try not to discriminate, as all chocolate is wonderful.
So it has recently come to my attention that almost anything covered in chocolate is better than the thing itself. I mean pretzels are great, but so much better when chocolate covered. Raisons are ok, but put them in chocolate and they are amazing. Even dried fruit is well, a healthy snack, but cover them in chocolate and you have yourself some dessert!
So what else could we cover in chocolate? I wonder how chocolate covered vegetables would taste. I will be the first to admit that I have a serious aversion to vegetables, but cover them in chocolate and who knows? I might actually enjoy them. My dream would be for everything and anything to be chocolate covered. Sadly, I don't think the rest of the world agrees. So until I become President and demand that all food be covered in chocolate, I guess we candy lovers will have to settle for what we have.
Until next time, this is Kandy K.....stay sweet!
I’ve got one for you: chocolate covered dried mango. Out of this world. I have a client that owns a candy shop and she is constantly experimenting. Her latest is Ruffles potato chips – that seems like a no brainer. Popcorn, maraschino cherries, S’mores, peanut butter cups…no veggies yet, but anything’s possible.
I once decided to try as many things in chocolate as I could buy. I found a few interesting ones, but vegetables where not in that group. Right now I just got a recipe for chocolate chicken, and with a new pasta maker I got for my birthday I’m thinking chocolate pasta. I’ve also heard of a bean dish with chocolate that I have yet to try. Chocolate is truly the best discovery of man.
