Trick-or-treating was one of my favorite things when I was younger. Even better, I loved returning and trading all my favorite candies with my friends.
I would always trade certain candies for others, trying to create the best bag of candy. However, I’m unsure if my taste aligns with the most popular Halloween candies, as reported by Thrillist.
Candy is highly subjective as everyone has their own personal preferences but, as you will see, my allegiance always lies with Reese's and their beloved, fabled combination of Peanut Butter and Milk Chocolate
Reese’s Cups
I give this ranking a 10/10. Reese's Peanut Butter Cups are certainly my top Halloween candy and, perhaps, my favorite candy of all time! Each time I have one, they get better, and I always trade other candies for these.
Twix
This ranking gets a 9/10. While I agree that Twix is a top 10 candy, I’m unsure if it is my number two. Don’t get me wrong, though; I love Twix Bars and their unique flavors and combinations of textures.
Snickers
Snickers at #3 gets a 9/10 too. I would like to rank Twix above Snickers or vice versa. They are both delicious classic candies and, without irony, the best-selling candy bar in the world! Whether I choose Snickers or Twiz depends on my mood.
Kit Kat
I give this ranking an 8/10. I give it this lower ranking because it deserves a higher position. I am swapping KitKat for either Snickers or Twix. I love the crisp snap they offer, and they are always a good balance of texture and flavor.
Butterfinger
This ranking gets a 1/10. I do not like Butterfingers. This is an unpopular opinion, but they do not deserve this high ranking. However, I can respect it because many people love them.
100 Grand
I was shocked to see the 100 Grand bar on this ranking. I’m unsure if I have ever had one, so I give this ranking a 6/10. That ranking would undoubtedly go up if they are delicious, but I don’t know. To be in the top 10 Halloween candies, you have to be popular, which the 100 Grand Bar, in my opinion, is not.
Mr. Goodbar
10/10. This ranking is perfect. Mr. Goodbars is so delicious and so underrated. They are also often given out in their mini-bar form. They deserve to be in the top 10 at this position because they are always given out on Halloween and are so good!
Nestle Crunch
I give this ranking a 7/10. Nestle's Crunch Bar deserves a higher spot, closer to the ranking given to Butterfingers. They have such great texture and flavor. I used to trade for these every year on Halloween.
Reese’s Pieces
2/10. I know this is also going to be one of my unpopular opinions. I wouldn’t say I like Reese’s Pieces that much. I think that the cup is so much better. I also do not think they are a Halloween staple.
Hershey Bars
This ranking gets a 10/10. Hershey bars are the classic Halloween candy. I love Hershey’s chocolate, and the taste of it reminds me of Halloween.
This list came from thrillist.com on their blog and further down on the list was some gummy and hard candies.
I’m surprised at least one didn’t make their top ten, but I am a chocolate person, so I understand entirely.
