We all know how exciting it can be to find a long-lost candy favorite after years of thinking you might never be able to enjoy it again. And yet, sometimes, my favorite candy tatses different than you may have remembered. When this happens, it can be disconcerting. We understand as we have been “selling retro candy long before it was considered retro,” and have many candies change, or worse, disappear, over our 90 plus year history!
The tricky thing about taste is that it is highly subjective. Many candies, especially those that have been around for decades, are susceptible to undergoing a formula change that could slightly alter the flavor. However, there are countless other reasons why you may experience your favorite treat differently than you did when you were young, and we have compiled a page devoted to help to make your candy purchase meet your expectations.
At CandyFavorites.com, we love connecting customers with the sweets they enjoyed in their youth and strive to provide updates when a new formula or variation is released. However, as you seek out the candy favorites of your past, it can be helpful to remember that nothing in life stays the same--sometimes, even your favorite sweet treats! And while a slightly updated candy may not be as you remember, we hope you might enjoy making new memories with a more original version of a classic.
We would love to hear your opinion or stories, especially if related to a particular memory, about a candy that may be different than you recall. As manufacturers often read our blog pages, this could prove insightful to them too!
To our knowledge, that is untrue and more candy fiction than truth along the lines of Bubble Yum having Spider Eggs. Makes for a good story but not many facts behind it.
Is it true that the outer shell contains a toxic substance that is banned in Europe and they are being sued because they refuse to quit using it?
Very disappointed in the Malted Milk Pastel Fiesta Eggs! The outer candy is shiny and tasteless . The malt is nowhere good as it use to be.
I can’t find the bigger White malted eggs. Even on Amazon it’s unavailable.
They probably won’t taste as good too.
I’m very disappointed.
