Hi, I am Hannah Brelsford, a senior in high school at Winchester Thurston School in Pittsburgh, PA who loves sugar.
I have always been the girl to eat sugary sweet icing until I feel sick in my stomach, the girl to always pick chocolate over gummies, and to always suggest stopping for dessert on the way home. So I guess it’s safe to say I LOVE SWEETS. Would I self-diagnose myself as a sweet connoisseur? That’s a hard question to answer. I would say I am a sweet connoisseur in training.
My training officially started two summers ago. I wanted to master one section of sweets, ice cream. My father, sister, occasionally my other siblings, and I set out to all of the ice cream stores within my hometown, Pittsburgh. Each week we would visit a new creamery and review the ice cream with comments. Since that summer I have loved to try, review, and record my findings of all different kinds of sweets. I would say I have mastered ice cream. I know what texture I like, which places are best, and what my favorite flavor is (mint chocolate chip and cookie dough.) Now, what section of sweets is next in my journey to mastering sweets?
CandyFavorites.com seems to have answered that for me and the answer is CANDY. This opportunity to share sweet sentiment as a blogger is a perfect fit for me!
My fondest memories of sugar are coated in candy. My family fills our stomachs with candy around the holidays, on road trips we always stop at gas stations and hunt for unfamiliar candies to share and try, and when we are overseas we love to taste test and compare that country's sweets to the ones we are familiar with back home. I love to write, I love candy, and I love sharing my thoughts with others so this opportunity to write about candy seems just so sweet (HA) for me.
My life is a balance between sports, family, friends, school, and now writing about my journey to becoming a sweets connoisseur. I may never master sweets but all I know is I will never stop trying! So welcome to my journey through the wonderful world of candy and stay tuned as I review new products, share new insights about the candy industry, and help expand the History of Candy section!
