Here we have a battle of the rings, not quite the competitions you watched on the television with the Olympics. But they do represent the three latest additions to our CandyFavorites Bag Candy Line.
The five Olympic Rings represent the union of the five continents and their athletes in one event. These rings represent their own meeting for a competition. Oh, did I mention this is a gummi ring taste testing?
These new gummi ring flavors are going for Gold!
Today, our contestants are Andrea Apple, Berry Blue Raspberry, and Wanda Watermelon.
Each gummi ring will be reviewed with the following rubric in mind: their uniform (presentation), taste bud performance (yumminess), and their Olympic sport (because why not).
The uniform category will assess their overall LOOKS and FIRST IMPRESSIONS.
The taste bud performance category will be solely based on their TASTE.
The Olympic sports category is just for FUN.
I will assign each ring with an Olympic sport that I feel best fits their ring personality.
Uniform and taste bud performance will be on a scaled-out of 5.
At the end of my assessment, a medal ceremony will crown a gold medalist!!
Andrea Apple Gummi Ring
Uniform: 4/5
Taste Bud Performance: 4/5
Olympic Sport: Ice Hockey because she is tough and tart and swift and sweet.
Berry Blue Raspberry Gummi Ring
Uniform: 5/5
Taste Bud Performance: 5/5
Olympic Sport: Figure Skating because he is icy and beautiful.
Wanda Watermelon Gummi Ring
Uniform: 4.5/5
Taste Bud Performance: 4.5/5
Olympic Sport: Speed skating because she sneaks up on you with outstanding performance and flavor.
The Olympic Gold Medal goes to……DRUM ROLL, PLEASE…….BERRY BLUE RASPBERRY!
The Silver goes to Wanda Watermelon, and the Bronze goes to Andrea Apple.
Overall it was a very close race (all were very yummy). I had to do quite a few tastes to ensure I was awarding the correct ring a medal.
Berry Blue Raspberry's powerful performance, from a delicious taste to a beautiful blue presentation. He was subtle and sweet all at once, filling my mouth with a berry explosion.
Wanda Watermelon was the perfect balance of sweet and sour watermelon; if you left me with the bag, I would finish it in one sitting.
Andrea Apple was tart, crisp, and sweet in her performance. She is what I want every apple to taste like. Overall it was a challenging and tight competition.
In the end, I think everyone will have different rankings, so try it for yourself. Put on your ring race and crown your gold medalist!
