Junior Mints were created in the 1940's by the James Welch Company, manufacturers of iconic American candies such as Welch's Fudge and those delicious chocolate enrobed caramels known as Sugar Babies.
Industry lore has it that the name derives from Sally Benson stories featured in New Yorker Magazine that were collected into a book called "Junior Miss," which was made into a theatrical play, and then a radio show.

EVERY THING WONDERFUL...FRESH ALWAYS, DELIVER
Everything Wonderful...Fresh always, Deliver Quick. The only think was the order was large & in one bag would have liked in two bags. Recommend to everyone...Thank you Always
These candies are not the same as the ones that I ordered last time: the wrapper does not have sugar free printed on them, look totally different, same kind of box is about all. Candy not in sugar free wrappers tend to melt at any temp., anyplace, become extremely "STICKY", so when I pay $55,50 for 5#s I expect to get the same kind as before. I am so disappointed, sorry
Definitely not red hots. Couldn’t taste any cinnamon. The candy was hard and sweet
Sadly, like so many beloved and classic candies, Red hots were discontinued many moons ago. The Cinnamon Imperials are the closest to them but, alas, they are not the classic candy. Thanks for your understanding!
