Red Dollars were introduced in 1926 as oval pieces of gum emblazoned with a dollar sign, but back then the name had nothing to do with the flavor. With about 75 pieces per pound, perhaps Red Dollars are not a hedge against inflation but they sure are an investment against going hungry especially when you desire their delicious cherry flavor and fun to eat chewy texture.
Here's a fun fact -- Red Dollar derives from a slang expression that means something new, popular, or innovative, and it wasn’t until the 1940’s that the name was changed to Red Dollars to reflect the candy that everybody loves.
Delicious to eat and a good value too is why Red Dollars are one of the most sought after gummi candies that we offer not to mention amongst the hardest to find. I guess we can chalk that up to "supply and demand."
Net Weight 4 lb.
Approximately 75 pieces per pound
1" in diameter
Please note that as of 2019, these candies are now made by a new manufacturer and have a "new and improved" cherry flavor

Very Good, But Not Red Hot Dollars
I was hoping that these would be like the red hot dollars of old, but they are not. They seem a bit softer and more cherry than raspberry. The red hot dollars had a texture more like Swedish Fish or Jujy Fruits, while these are closer to Dots. That said, they are excellent, were very fresh, and I would certainly buy them again.
Thank you for taking time to leave a review. We apologize that they did not meet your expectations of being similar to the old red hot dollars. We appreciate your feedback though and are glad you still enjoyed them. Thank you for choosing CandyFavorites.com!

Nothing like the old dollar
Nothing like the old dollar candies. If I would’ve known they were juju coins. I would’ve never ordered them they suck. Please take me off your mailing list.
Everything Wonderful...Fresh always, Deliver Quick. The only think was the order was large & in one bag would have liked in two bags. Recommend to everyone...Thank you Always
The picture showed the white lettering typical of Primrose, and It came up on the Primrose filter. But, it has blue lettering, and came from Argentina(If my memory is correct). That said, I do like them anyway, and the quality seems as good as what I get from Primrose. I will probably buy them again if available. The problem is, how would one know what they are getting?
Your web site completely screwed up my order. As far as I know the item was not gift wrapped. Thought I was ordering large size item but you sent small size item. Paid extra for a note and no note included. Recipient called me after Christmas and asked if I was the one who sent the candy since there was no note and no indication of who sent it.
