In 3, 2, 1 BLASTOFF! This may seem silly, but honestly, these were how Astro Pops came to be.
In 1963 two rocket scientists decided to quit their jobs working in the space program and dedicate their careers to delicious, out of this world (no pun intended, I know it’s corny) Astro Pops. This candy was modeled after a three-stage rocket with high-speed cone wrapping velocity.
The cone wrapper these scientists created was the mold for the popular Astro Pops that soon became space crazy fans' favorite candy. The hot candy is poured directly into the mold, and then a stick is added until the candy hardens and BAM, the Astro Pop, is created. The candy was purchased by its original maker by Spangler Candy in 1987 and was branded as the “longest-lasting lollipop on earth. Spangler Candy also expanded the flavor profile of the Astro Pops ranging from sour grape to vanilla.
The product was discontinued in 2004, but eventually, Leaf Brands bought the rights to the candy since Astro Pops was one of the CEO’s favorites. As a result, Astro Pops are now available for you to enjoy in many new flavors or stick to the classic!

don't taste as good as I remember
The taste of candy changes as does our recollection of how it tasted. With so many retro candies being discontinued, it is special that products like Astro Pops still exist. Despite all, we hope you enjoyed your lollipops!

[message]I find myself competing with 9 great grandkids for the gummies
The most expensive candy on my order and also the most fragile. They were all just thrown in there amongst the other candy and some Styrofoam peanuts.
