Typically, zero is considered a throw-away number, insignificant, and sub-par. But nothing could be further from the truth when it comes to the time-tested Zero Bar.
This sweet concoction of caramel, peanut, almond, and nougat, all covered with white fudge, has been around since 1920- although then it was known as the Double Zero Bar.
Over the years, the Zero Bar became known for its surprisingly white exterior and slogan boasting that it's as cool as zero degrees. Although it no longer sells for merely a penny a piece, it's still made with the original formula.
The Zero Bar's history has an ironic twist: It was initially created in the 1930s by the Hollywood Candy Company in Hollywood, Minnesota.
Here's a piece of candy trivia: The Zero Bar included peanuts because a famous ice cream venue substituted peanuts for walnuts in its sundaes. Some say it improved the taste, and others think it detracted from it.
The extended photograph is of an original Zero Bar wrapper circa 1931 when the product was being manufactured by Hollywood Candy Co.

Everything Wonderful...Fresh always, Deliver Quick. The only think was the order was large & in one bag would have liked in two bags. Recommend to everyone...Thank you Always
The candy at Candyfavorites.com is outstanding but the weather patterns can be confusing and harsh from region to region in the United States, let alone other areas of the world. My thought is to protect your purchase with Hot Weather and Fragile Protection ...it works for us in NC.
We are very pleased with our purchase of Brach's Indian Corn. It is only available during this time of the year & it disappears quickly off the shelves in stores. That's why I order this from CandyFavorites.com. Brach's Indian corn is available even when the stores run out, but don't wait too long to place your order! The 3 pound bag arrived in a box packaged to keep it cold & fresh, so there was no melting of the candy due to warmer temperatures. We like to mix our Indian Corn with dry roasted peanuts, it tastes a lot like Baby Ruths!
