[message]Package came with severe damage
Hello,
This is an insurance and if your package came severely damaged, you may be able to file a claim. You need to go to the email you would have received from Route Protection when you placed the order and follow claim instructions. They usually request a photo or two but it's fairly simple to do and we highly recommend you do so.
Sadly, they have been discontinued as they were part of the NECCO line that disappeared when the company went bankrupt. A great piece of candy indeed!
Are squirrel nut still produced?
The last time I bought them was around 2018.
Hi, I got married in 2005. My wife and I were able to enjoy a couple of packages of “Brach’s Red Twists” shortly after that. I enjoyed them when I was a kid from the 1970s, 80s, and 90s. So, it was very odd to me that after I had not had any Brachs Red Twists for several years had even forgot about them that I was at a Speedway Gas Station on the South Side of Bloomington, Indiana. Really the last Gas station in Bloomington, IN on South Walnut before you get to Highway 37/69. I hadn’t actually thought about them for a long time and found one bag hanging up. It was actually the middle of my work day as a door to door salesman and I was stopping to get gas. So, even more strangely when I got up to the cashier to pay for my Gas and the Red Twists I asked the male cashier behind the counter if/when they would get more of the Red Twists in. This man started yelling at me for casually asking if/when they would get a reorder of this product. I mean there was really absolutely no reason for this response and I have never had an experience like that at a gas station before or since that one time. He was yelling that “No! we will never get or have those in again” or something to that effect. Which was totally bizarre and is why I still remember it 16 years later like it happened yesterday. So I brought these Brach’s Red Twist and shared them with my wife. She liked them so much that was spent that evening driving to different gas stations to find this product and after a few hours of driving around found two more packages at a Huck’s in Orleans, Indiana. So a few weeks or few months later I asked her to check online and see if she could order a case of these directly from Brach’s. She did that and explained that they had been discontinued. A few years later I did more extensive research and found out that someone in another country like Switzerland or France or Somewhere over there purchased the recipe for Brach’s Red Twist and is just sitting on it. The reason I am writing you is because for the past 16 years I’ve been eating Twizzlers or Red Vines and they are awful. They are no where near the quality of texture and taste that were the Brach’s Red Twist. The Red Licorice that is on the American Market at most convenient stores is beyond horrible. I emailed you guys back when I did my initial research and never heard
There’s never been a candy bar like the 10:30 before or since. It was and still is unique and indescribably delicious. If a macaron and a rice krispies treat had a nougat filled and white chocolate enrobed baby with a colorful pink and purple white chocolate drizzle that would be pretty darn close!
It’s hard to love when you know that if you love they may be discontinued.
My other favorite is Sun Drops from Trader Joe’s, candy coated chocolate dipped sunflower seeds.
I know that not many people remember the 10:30 bar, but those of us who do remember miss it still.
I miss Bonkers. They were soft like Starburst and they featured an inner flavor and an outer flavor. The commercial used to feature fruit falling throug the ceiling and landing on people making them go bonkers.
