Earth Day is all about saving, and we think it's important to save your favorite candies from extinction. Over the years, so many delicious, ingenious candies have gone the way of the dinosaurs. We can't take our favorite candy for granted, or we may never see it again.
In the spirit of conservation, we're giving away some great nostalgic candy prizes. It's our way of spreading the love of retro candies and making sure that future generations get to enjoy the same flavors we savor today.
To enter, share your favorite memory of an already extinct candy. Or tell us about the candy you believe should be saved for posterity. Just leave your story in the comments on this post to enter. We'll announce the winners early next week!
Don't forget to do your part for the planet. Buy online to save gas. And always dispose of your wrappers responsibly.
I really miss the original chocolate Now & Later. Not this new soft chewy one though. I LOVED the original and I have absolutely no idea why they stopped making it. If they brought it back I’d buy it by the case. I miss you Orginial Cholocate Now & Later….Please come back….. :-(
Bring back Brach’s A & W root beer barrells. There aren’t any good substitutes.
I remember before I left to move 1200 miles from my grammie, she gave me a candy bar and said that if I missed her i could eat the candy bar and it would put a smile on my face an remind me of her…and once i got to Mississippi and realized i couldnt just go see her, i opened that candy bar an cried for hours…..
the closest thing i have found to it is now the Hersheys Airdelight……but back then it was called Chocolite………….
Thanks
What happened to the wax harmonicas at halloween
I honestly have a trio that I want saved…can hardly find them anymore…usually have to order them…Abba Zabba (taffy filled with peanut butter—oh yum), Look (nougat covered with dark chocolate) and Big Hunk (nougat with peanuts in it)…why can’t they be in every store with 3 Musketeers and Snickers? I also miss the 7-Up Bars (they had both dark chocolate and a milk chocolate bar—can anyone name all 7 compartments?)… :P I also loved Fizzies (candy?). I loved Brach’s jelly nougats too. And also one of my favorites was the Jolly Rancher Fire Stick…you can still get the hard candy but not the stick. :( Cup O’Gold candy bar is good too (a chocolate cup filled with marshmallow creme, another sadly almost extinct) and a closely related cousin…Cherry Mountain…oh yummmmm…Can you tell I love candy? Hahaha…I hope I win… Well good memories all…
