Dark Chocolate Peanut Chews were created in 1917 by the Goldenberg Family, and although mostly found on the East Coast, these are one of the most sought-after retro candies still available.
The unique taste of Dark Chocolate Peanut Chews made them a popular treat with the troops in two World Wars. With their patriotic lineage and delicious peanut taste, how could anyone say no to a piece of American candy history?
Please note that although the label changed and no longer shows the Goldenberg name, the delicious formula remains unchanged. While some things change, the good things remain the same....

A favorite of WW II soldiers. Good reason. Less sweet than modern candies, the mixture of dark chocolates, molasses and peanuts is just right, in my opinion.
We're so glad to hear that our Original Dark Chocolate Peanut Chews are your favorite candy. We take pride in using a classic recipe that has been loved by many. We appreciate your support and hope you continue to enjoy the delicious blend of dark chocolate, molasses, and peanuts. Thank you for choosing CandyFavorites.com!

My Favorite Chocolate!
These are just the right size snacks to add to lunch bags, hiking packs, & birthday gift packages. Not to mention that they’re my all time favorite chocolates- just the right blend of good dark chocolate, peanuts, & all the rest of the yummy ingredients !
Increasing hard to find, Peanut chews are worth the effort and the snack size helps with portion control too...as they are hard to stop eating too!

Incorrect Order
Unfortunately, I did not receive the Dark Chocolate peanut chews, instead I received the milk chocolate peanut chews. Not my favorite however too much of a hassle to return. Hoping my next order is correct! Love this company!
Please accept our apologies for the filling error and please know that we GREATLY appreciate customers as gracious as you! If I can ever be of personal service, please reach out to me! Sincerely, Jon H.Prince / President

These we think are stale.
These we think are stale. They are harder then they should be! But are still edible. We are a little disappointed about this one!
We checked the manufacturer's dating on your shipment and they are about 7 months away from being stale. Candies such as these tend to be harder in colder temperatures and softer when warm. It is not a sign of defect or staleness but rather how the ingredients react. I hope this makes sense and offers some clarification!
Everything Wonderful...Fresh always, Deliver Quick. The only think was the order was large & in one bag would have liked in two bags. Recommend to everyone...Thank you Always
I loved these small jellybeans. The did not seem to have carnauba wax. The shells were perfect, not too hard, and not waxy shiny. Colors and flavors were fantastic and made beautiful Easter gifts in cello bags. We're ordering more to serve with appetizers when having dinner parties, a playful statement we think will be well received.
What’s the reason for them, discontinuing the malted milk, balls, and chocolate stars
Why would Brach’s discontinue the malted milk balls and the chocolate stars?
This is a question that no one can answer! In the past few years, Brachs has discontinued almost every product, including the many true classics! At one point, we were this brand's first and largest online distributor. Now, we are lucky to offer any of their items! As to why remains one of the candy world's great mysteries!
I UMPIRE OVER 200 GAMES A YEAR AND I ALWAYS START THE GAME WITH A DADS ROOT BEER BARREL. MY FELLOW UMPIRE ALL WANT ONE WHEN THEY SEE ME . GREAT ROOT BEER FLAVOR THAT REMINDS YOU OF CHILDHOOD.
Thanks for sharing your review and for telling us about a fun baseball tradition! Half of what we try to do - maybe more - is to provide candies that connect people with their childhood! It's what retro candy is all about!
Great mild mint taste. Melts in your mouth. Nice size too.

I Snaps by the POUND!!!
I saw I could order Snaps after a lifetime drought. I order 6#,s, and ate em all. I saw a problem forming so I ordered 9# of Snaps in 12 oz packs. Still . I wanted sealed Snaps for the long haul. So I ordered another 6# bag … and ate it. The pandemic hits and I salivate over my sealed 12 oz bags. Then I ate em. A year later I found Snpas online. The were not cheap. I bought 4 12 oz bags. Opened the last one yesterday.

Perfect amount!!
With decent weather on Halloween, wanted to make sure I had plenty of candy to give away. Delivery was on time and kept me out of the stores buying old candy that had been on the shelves since Labor Day.
