It is hard to believe that in 2021, we are waxing eloquently about a candy invented in 1914, but as the adage goes, “ good things are built to last.” In this case, the word “good” should be replaced with “delicious.” One hundred and seven years and running, Mary Janes escaped extinction when NECCO went out of business, and Atkinson is now producing them.
Here’s a piece of sweet trivia - Legend has it that Mary Jane Candy was invented in Paul Revere’s house. If this doesn’t earn its pride in the great American history of candy, nothing will!
Although the size has changed, the formula remains the same. Who could ask for more?

Each individually wrapped piece measures approximately 3” excluding the twist ties.

A favorite of WW II soldiers. Good reason. Less sweet than modern candies, the mixture of dark chocolates, molasses and peanuts is just right, in my opinion.
