The taste of products can vary from what you remember, and it's not necessarily a matter of freshness. It often depends on the manufacturer and whether you're comparing the candy to an earlier version of the same product.
For instance, Ferrara Pan's Atomic Fireballs were not produced after 2024, and we substituted them with Tongue Torchers. The same applies to Jawbusters which we replaced with Jawbreakers.
Although both candies are comparable and have similar names, their flavors and size differ slightly, making a direct comparison impossible.
Even as so many beloved confections disappear, it's heartening to find that candies with a unique flavor are still around to delight our taste buds even if they do taste slightly different.
Marpo Marshmallow Cones and Satellite Wafers are perfect examples of how candy responds to the climate.
Their unique ingredients make them firmer in the cold and softer when it's warm or humid. This isn't an indication of any flaw or staleness; it's simply the nature of the ingredients interacting with the surrounding environment.
While we don't produce candy ourselves - we are a wholesaler and not a manufacturer - and can't influence changes in formulas or taste, we are committed to providing our customers with only the freshest products on the market as we have for close to 100 years!
